On Tuesday afternoon, the children worked extremely hard throughout the gross science experiment which showed the digestive system process. The children used their hands, to act as the mouth, in order to crush the food. Then, we saw the food go down the oesophagus into the stomach where the acids (orange juice) broke down the food even more. Finally, the food entered the tights (the small intestine) whereby we saw the process of nutrients being absorbed and we were left with the faeces which came out of the bottom of the tights.
