Literacy:
Have a conversation your children. Asking them to describe the sun, is it cold? is it hot.
Say ‘The sun is hot.’ – count the words and repeat the sentence. Once the children are familiar with the sentence as them to use their Fred Fingers and phonics to have a go at writing the sentence.
Maths:
The Bowling Alley: Set up 10 plastic bottles or cups. Have your child roll a ball. Count how many they knocked down, and how many are left standing.
Example: “You knocked down 4, and 3 are standing. Let’s count them all: 4 + 3 = 7!”
