Year 3 have had a fantastic start to the year!
During our first week, the children got stuck in to our new topic, ‘Gods and Mortals’, by learning about life in Ancient Greece. The children analysed different sources and found out more information about the jobs they had and their education.
In English, the children have started to look at character descriptions. We have read Theseus and the Monotaur and started to come up with ideas to describe the Minotaur’s appearance and personality. The children came up with some excellent 2AD expanded noun phrases and similes.
In maths, the children used dienes to partition numbers up to 100. They worked brilliantly in pairs and supported each other through the lesson.
