In Year 3 this week in Maths we explored the word perimeter and its meaning. We learnt that perimeter is the total length around the edge of a 2-D shape. The children worked in pairs and used a selection of cut out 2-D shapes. They used string to explore measuring the perimeter of shapes by using the string to place along the edges and then measuring the string with a ruler.
