Children’s writing journey at Radford begins with what we call ‘emergent writing.’ This is when children use mark making tools in lots of different areas of the classroom, outside and in, to write. They might write a shopping list or a doctor’s appointment, a card or draw a treasure map. That’s why, wherever you look in nursery you will find pens, pencils and chalk at the ready!
