This week in Year 3, we have been looking at an Italian artist called Giuseppe Arcimboldo. He is famous for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely of objects such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish and books. First the children explored shading and toning, using these skills to draw still life fruit drawings. The children then created their own fruit portraits( using different gradient of pencils and different media to explore shading) inspired by Arcimboldo.
