This week, our learning was inspired by the classic story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, offering the children a variety of engaging, hands-on experiences across the curriculum. Through interactive sensory tuff tray exploration, the children enriched their descriptive vocabulary while developing early mathematical skills as they counted and compared different bears, beds, and bowls. Expressive arts and physical development took centre stage as they designed beds using junk modelling materials and manipulated playdough with natural objects to create their own story characters. To support their social and emotional learning, the children discussed the characters’ feelings and brought the narrative to life through imaginative puppet theatre. Finally, during phonics, they explored sound lotto, which enhanced their active listening and early sound discrimination skills.
